Rick Heine and Jerry House! Washington County Park Sticker is required for each vehicle. They can be purchased on site day of event or on-line ahead of time. No Ski Rentals are available so bring your own equipment and dress for the weather. Meet at the Nordic Trailhead Center and be ready to ski at 1pm! Trailhead Center is partially open for use of rest rooms. *Please arrive in time to get your County Park Sticker (if needed) and get skis on so you are ready to go at 1pm! There is no cost for this event other than the County Sticker for your car. Daily permit is $7. Think Snow, Do a Snow Dance, Pray for Snow… we need all the help we can get for more snow :-) ! Join us on Sunday February 28th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm to Snowshoe through the Oakdale Nature Reserve. Price: $25.00 - Includes snowshoe rental, guidance on how to snowshoe, help with putting your snowshoes on & off, guided hike, bonfire afterward with Cocoa & Samores. Bring your own extra spirits, if you want. You can bring your own snowshoes, however there will be no discount if you do. Arrive no later than 1pm to pick-up your snow shoe rentals. We are planning to leave the bonfire area at 1:15 pm. Should you arrive after the group has left, someone will be there to help with the snowshoes and send you in the direction of your fellow friends. Black Diamond Option: About a 34 mile round trip bike ride with live music and socially distant socializing in the middle. Blue Square Option: About a 5 mile round trip walk with live music and socially distant socializing at the end. Green Circle Option: About a 5 mile round trip bike ride with live music and socially distant socializing at the end. Lounge Lizard Option: About a 500 foot walk from a parking lot to PD Pappy’s for live music and socially distant socializing. Find out more below and then sign-up here: Event Sign-up Black Diamond - Parking Details Black Diamond Option: For those that want the casual longer bike ride Meet between 12:15 and 12:30 at the Gateway Trail’s 55th Street Parking lot, across from Fleet Farm just off Highway 36 (see the detailed map for more information). Black Diamond - Trail Map Leave at 12:45 and bike the beautiful Gateway Trail for about 6.0 miles to the Duluth Junction, which is the start of the Brown’s Creek Trail. Bike the 5.9 miles of the Brown’s Creek Trail down the gradual slope into Downtown Stillwater and connect with the Green Circle’ers at approximately 2:00-2:15. Any questions call Gary H. Meet near the start of the downtown Stillwater Lift Bridge on the Minnesota side for a casual 4.7 mile walk on the new Stillwater Loop Trail. Recommend to walk through downtown downtown Stillwater and up towards the new bridge and then cross over the river to the cheesey WI side and then down the steep hill and take in the nice sights as you cross the refurbished bridge into Stillwater. As a bonus, this group should cross paths with those in the biking groups (Black Diamond’ers and Green Circle’ers) as they will be traveling in the opposite direction. Finish the walking route at PD Pappy’s (422 E. Mulberry Street ) on the river and connect with the Black Diamond’ers, Green Circle’ers and Lounge Lizards. Green Circle Option: For those that want the casual shorter bike ride Meet at 2:00 for a 2:15 leave. PD Pappy’s serves great 1/3 lb burgers and cold beer, as well as other food and beverages, but why would you want other food or beverages?? Black Diamond’ers should leave between 5:30 – 6:00 to ensure they are back at the parking lot and packed up before sundown, which happens approximately 8:55 PM.
