We are starting our first Happy Hour with an outdoor get-together at the McLean's on July 16th. Enjoy a round or two of Horseshoes or Bocce Ball and make sure to bring a lawn chair. Donations to help offset the cost is appreciated. CoVid Note: Due to CoVid, we will try to use some common sense: The Happy Hour will be mainly outside weather permitting, so we can keep social distancing, so .. try to keep 6 ft from each other, actually that might be a good thing. If you need to use the bathroom or go in, be responsible, if there are several inside, we would suggest a mask, if you are less than 6 ft. If you are outside enjoying the weather, and refreshments and observing distance … your choice on wearing a mask. Number of Attendees: we are not sure how well this will go, we want to get together, but safely. Some members in the Club, we know will not take the chance of getting together at this time, and we respect that. Others, feel stir-crazy, being in lock-down, and are looking forward to seeing people … yes people. So … we may get 12-16 which would be idea for our yard. What we do not want is mass gathering, this would not be responsible. So … we will be going from 5-7’ish pm, feel free to let us know, an RSVP would be good, so we stay clear of a mass gathering. Stay an hour, and let others join, if we are around 16’ish, feel free to stay and enjoy. Note: Most Thirsty Thursdays, we average 12 .. but this is an unusual time, we may get few, or we may be overwhelmed. So … to prevent being overwhelmed … Please RSVP. This kayaking adventure is much like the photo suggests. Navigate around a few rocks and some mild rapids. Water is only a few feet deep for most of this trip. Green Circle Option: About a 5 mile round trip bike ride with live music and socially distant socializing at the end. Lounge Lizard Option: About a 500 foot walk from a parking lot to PD Pappy’s for live music and socially distant socializing. Find out more below and then sign-up here: >>> Event Sign-up <<< Black Diamond - Trail Map Black Diamond Option: For those that want the casual longer bike ride Meet at 12:30 at the Gateway Trail’s 55th Street Parking lot, across from Fleet Farm just off Highway 36 (see the detailed map for more information). Black Diamond - Parking Details Leave at 12:45 and bike the beautiful Gateway Trail for about 6.0 miles to the Duluth Junction, which is the start of the Brown’s Creek Trail. Bike the 5.9 miles of the Brown’s Creek Trail down the gradual slope into Downtown Stillwater and connect with the Green Circle’ers at approximately 2:00-2:15. Blue Square - Green Circle - Lounge Lizards Trail Blue Square Option: For those that want a casual 90-ish minute walk Meet at 1:15 for a 1:30 leave. Meet near the start of the downtown Stillwater Lift Bridge on the Minnesota side for a casual 4.7 mile walk on the new Stillwater Loop Trail. Recommend to walk through downtown downtown Stillwater and up towards the new bridge and then cross over the river to the cheesey WI side and then down the steep hill and take in the nice sights as you cross the refurbished bridge into Stillwater. As a bonus, this group should cross paths with those in the biking groups (Black Diamond’ers and Green Circle’ers) as they will be traveling in the opposite direction. Finish the walking route at PD Pappy’s (422 E. Mulberry Street ) on the river and connect with the Black Diamond’ers, Green Circle’ers and Lounge Lizards. Green Circle Option: For those that want the casual shorter bike ride Meet at 2:00 for a 2:15 leave. Meet near the start of the downtown Stillwater Lift Bridge on the Minnesota side for a casual 4.7 mile bike ride on the new Stillwater Loop Trail. The Black Diamond’ers should be connecting with you to begin this trip. Recommend to ride across the bridge to the cheesey WI side and go up the steep start and have the gradual decline for the end of the bike route. As a bonus, this group should cross paths with those in the walking group (Blue Square’ers) as they will be traveling in the opposite direction. Finish the bike route at PD Pappy’s (422 E. Mulberry Street ) on the river and connect with the Blue Square’ers and Lounge Lizards. Lounge Lizard Option: For those that want to casual socially distant socializing and meet up with the bikers and walkers Meet at 3:00 at PD Pappy’s in downtown Stillwater. 422 E. Mulberry Street, Stillwater, MN 55082 Black Diamond’ers, Blue Square’ers, and Green Circle’ers will connect with you about 3:00. There is free live music from 3-6pm. PD Pappy’s serves great 1/3 lb burgers and cold beer, as well as other food and beverages, but why would you want other food or beverages?? Black Diamond’ers should leave between 5:30 – 6:00 to ensure they are back at the parking lot and packed up before sundown, which happens approximately 7:27pm. There are several free parking lots throughout downtown Stillwater. Rick Heine and Jerry House! Washington County Park Sticker is required for each vehicle. They can be purchased on site day of event or on-line ahead of time. No Ski Rentals are available so bring your own equipment and dress for the weather. Meet at the Nordic Trailhead Center and be ready to ski at 1pm! Trailhead Center is partially open for use of rest rooms. *Please arrive in time to get your County Park Sticker (if needed) and get skis on so you are ready to go at 1pm! There is no cost for this event other than the County Sticker for your car. Daily permit is $7. Think Snow, Do a Snow Dance, Pray for Snow… we need all the help we can get for more snow :-) ! Join us on Sunday February 28th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm to Snowshoe through the Oakdale Nature Reserve. Price: $25.00 - Includes snowshoe rental, guidance on how to snowshoe, help with putting your snowshoes on & off, guided hike, bonfire afterward with Cocoa & Samores. Bring your own extra spirits, if you want. You can bring your own snowshoes, however there will be no discount if you do. Arrive no later than 1pm to pick-up your snow shoe rentals. We are planning to leave the bonfire area at 1:15 pm. Should you arrive after the group has left, someone will be there to help with the snowshoes and send you in the direction of your fellow friends. Recommendations: Wear good boots and layer your clothing. Masks are required inside the center facilities and welcomed outside, along with socially distancing.
