Two of our Ski Club Member icons will be leading a Cross Country Ski Trek in Lake Elmo Park Reserve... Rick Heine and Jerry House!

Washington County Park Sticker is required for each vehicle. They can be purchased on site day of event or on-line ahead of time.
No Ski Rentals are available so bring your own equipment and dress for the weather.

Meet at the Nordic Trailhead Center and be ready to ski at 1pm!
Trailhead Center is partially open for use of rest rooms.

*Please arrive in time to get your County Park Sticker (if needed) and get skis on so you are ready to go at 1pm!

There is no cost for this event other than the County Sticker for your car. Daily permit is $7.
Think Snow, Do a Snow Dance, Pray for Snow… we need all the help we can get for more snow :-) !

Take a hike ... with us of course! Join us on Sunday February 28th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm to Snowshoe through the Oakdale Nature Reserve.

Price: $25.00 - Includes snowshoe rental, guidance on how to snowshoe, help with putting your snowshoes on & off, guided hike, bonfire afterward with Cocoa & Samores. Bring your own extra spirits, if you want. You can bring your own snowshoes, however there will be no discount if you do.

Arrive no later than 1pm to pick-up your snow shoe rentals. We are planning to leave the bonfire area at 1:15 pm.

Should you arrive after the group has left, someone will be there to help with the snowshoes and send you in the direction of your fellow friends.

Recommendations: Wear good boots and layer your clothing. Masks are required inside the center facilities and welcomed outside, along with socially distancing.

Black Diamond Option: About a 34 mile round trip bike ride with live music and socially distant socializing in the middle.
Blue Square Option: About a 5 mile round trip walk with live music and socially distant socializing at the end.
Green Circle Option: About a 5 mile round trip bike ride with live music and socially distant socializing at the end.
Lounge Lizard Option: About a 500 foot walk from a parking lot to PD Pappy’s for live music and socially distant socializing.

Black Diamond - Parking Details

Black Diamond Option: For those that want the casual longer bike ride
Meet between 12:15 and 12:30 at the Gateway Trail’s 55th Street Parking lot, across from Fleet Farm just off Highway 36 (see the detailed map for more information).

Leave at 12:45 and bike the beautiful Gateway Trail for about 6.0 miles to the Duluth Junction, which is the start of the Brown’s Creek Trail.
Bike the 5.9 miles of the Brown’s Creek Trail down the gradual slope into Downtown Stillwater and connect with the Green Circle’ers at approximately 2:00-2:15.

Blue Square - Green Circle - Lounge Lizards Trail

Blue Square Option: For those that want a casual 90-ish minute walk
Meet at 1:15 for a 1:30 leave.
Meet near the start of the downtown Stillwater Lift Bridge on the Minnesota side for a casual 4.7 mile walk on the new Stillwater Loop Trail.
Recommend to walk through downtown downtown Stillwater and up towards the new bridge and then cross over the river to the cheesey WI side and then down the steep hill and take in the nice sights as you cross the refurbished bridge into Stillwater.

As a bonus, this group should cross paths with those in the biking groups (Black Diamond’ers and Green Circle’ers) as they will be traveling in the opposite direction. Finish the walking route at PD Pappy’s (422 E. Mulberry Street ) on the river and connect with the Black Diamond’ers, Green Circle’ers and Lounge Lizards.

Green Circle Option: For those that want the casual shorter bike ride
Meet at 2:00 for a 2:15 leave.
Meet near the start of the downtown Stillwater Lift Bridge on the Minnesota side for a casual 4.7 mile bike ride on the new Stillwater Loop Trail.
The Black Diamond’ers should be connecting with you to begin this trip.

There is free live music from 8:30pm-12:00am.
PD Pappy’s serves great 1/3 lb burgers and cold beer, as well as other food and beverages, but why would you want other food or beverages??
Black Diamond’ers should leave between 5:30 – 6:00 to ensure they are back at the parking lot and packed up before sundown, which happens approximately 8:55 PM.

There are several free parking lots throughout downtown Stillwater. Just drive around a bit, follow the crowd, just ask someone, or Google “Stillwater MN Free Parking”

THE MSC WINTER CARNIVAL IS CARNIVAL IS BACK AT BIG SNOW!!!
One Weekend, 2 Mountains! January 21-23, 2022

on-line registration is scheduled to start 12:01am October 1st.

Your Weekend Getaway Includes:

Round trip coach bus from Minneapolis (Honeywell lot)
2 nights lodging in main lodge, complex units or trailside condos with fully furnished kitchens (but no ovens)
2-day downhill ski lift ticket for both Indianhead & Blackjack Ski Areas with optional Friday afternoon Lift Ticket at $30 additional
Friday Welcome Party with light snacks (meat/cheese) at Dudley’s 530-730pm courtesy of BigSnow Resort.
2 Drink tickets for tap beer, wine, or soda must be used at Dudley’s Saloon on Friday night ONLY.
Breakfast Saturday and Sunday
Live entertainment (hopefully bands) Friday and Saturday Nights in Dudley’s Saloon. Après ski music in the Sky Bar in Summit Center from 4:30 - 7:30pm Friday and Saturday
Wine and cheese party on the hill; Turtle Races with $400 in MSC prizes and the Human Slalom
Buffet style dinner Saturday night
Ski Equipment Rental: $27 / 1 day or $46 / 2 day (to be paid on your own at Big Snow Resort. Present your MSC neck wallet ID for discount).
Cross country ski or Snowshoe on 69km of groomed trails at ABR Park on both Saturday and Sunday. Snowshoe also available at Big Snow depending on conditions (to be purchased on your own at Big Snow Resort. Present your MSC neck wallet ID for discount). See rates below.
Indoor heated pool, large hot tub and exercise room in the Lodge.
All gratuities and taxes included

Park Passes: $14/ 1 day; $20/2 days. Ski Rental: Package of Touring skis, poles, boots- $15/day.

Skate skis, poles, boots - $20/day. Tubbs Snowshoe Rental (at ABR Park) - $10

Note: X/C skiers need to reserve your own transportation to/from ABR Park and Indianhead. Carpool with up to 5 others (6 total), each additional person reduces your cost. Make a reservation ahead of time (the day before) with the Ironwood Twin City Cab (906) 932-0711. Call for rates with multiple people.

SNOWSHOEING at BIG SNOW RESORT

Snowshoes can be rented from the Health and Fitness club, located at Indianhead Mountain and at the Blackjack Mountain Lodge rental center. Rental rates are $8 for 2 hours and $12 for the full day. Big Snow offers guided moonlight snowshoeing on most Saturday nights at 6pm, (weather permitting) that ends with a bonfire before the music starts in Dudley's Saloon! Please REGISTER before 2pm on Saturday at 906-229-2239

TRIP COSTS:

The cost of your trip is dependent on the lodging arrangements that you choose. Please refer to the chart below. This table does include lodging and 2 day lift pass. Registrations will be accepted ONLY upon successfully completing your on line registration and payment. Verbal commitments will not hold a room. Rooms are assigned on a first come first served basis.

Refer to this chart when picking out your condo size. When you book your room with # of roommates, adding a roommate will reduce your rate per the room chart. If a roommate cancels and is not replaced, your per person rate will increase per the room chart. Prices include bus transportation cost even if you drive as per MSC Guidelines. (If you live > 50 miles from Honeywell and driving to Big Snow you may deduct $40.) MSC cancellation policy is in effect. Cancellation Fees: From December 6,2021 to December 31st, $50 is non-refundable per person; after January 1, $100 plus any resulting room rate increase due from your cancellation assuming your space is not filled. No lift ticket refunds.
